Job Overview: Experienced and dynamic Senior Manager of Engineering to lead our engineering team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The role will be responsible for overseeing all engineering activities, driving process improvements, managing projects, equipment maintenance, and ensuring the successful execution of engineering initiatives into the Manufacturing footprint in Acuña. The main responsibility is to lead a cross-functional team to deploy projects across the Manufacturing segments of the supply chain and the same time we oversee the automation path of the factory. Projects will range from critical manufacturing projects, productivity projects, technology and robotics, optimization, and facility projects. Additionally, the Sr Manager will aid in both the accuracy and analysis of project planning and report out progress to the executive leadership team. Responsibilities: Leadership and Team Management: Provide strategic leadership and direction to the engineering team. Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture. Recruit, train, and mentor engineering staff for professional growth in Acuña. Manage and Lead a team of engineers locally and remotely delivering key project KPI's, applying Good Engineering Practice (GEP) throughout the project life cycle, and deliver on project Scope, Schedule, & Cost in pursuit of execution with excellence.Project Management: Lead and manage engineering projects from concept to completion. Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets. Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Partner with Manufacturing & Packaging Operations, Procurement, Supply Chain Finance, Brand Marketing & Research, Manufacturing, Engineering and Development teams to execute with tight schedules and deliver consistent Vertical Startup/ Technical Transfer expectations.Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency. Implement best practices to enhance manufacturing processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement. This position will deploy engineer and automation projects for various manufacturing solutions with comprehensive project ROI models and execute the company's automation master plan as part of Newell Brands strategic vision. Strong financial analysis to support fact-based business decisions and opportunities for capital investment.Quality Assurance: Ensure engineering designs meet quality standards and regulatory requirements. Implement and maintain quality control measures. Work closely with the quality assurance team to address any issues.Budget Management: Develop and manage the engineering department budget. Monitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities.Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, including production, maintenance, and quality, to ensure seamless operations. Work closely with senior management to align engineering initiatives with overall business objectives.Safety Compliance: Ensure engineering activities comply with safety regulations and guidelines. Implement and promote a strong safety culture within the engineering team.Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, automation, or related field 10+ years of experience in project management, 5+ years in a direct/indirect management or leadership role, experience leading automation and industrial engineering type projects. Experience leading projects and programs with high complexity and high levels of capital spend. Experience with traditional Industrial Engineering Standards, Lean six sigma process improvement, and disciplined project execution. Demonstrated familiarity with structured project management methodologies with Strong Project Management Capability, Design review, Procurement, Execution, Acceptance, Tech transfer, Startup, & Project closure. Demonstrated familiarity with manufacturing processes and production planning. Experience in developing and deploying project best practices, policies, procedures, and processes. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint) and project management tools such as Microsoft Project (or other) Possesses influencing skills (leads by example, clearly articulates business cases and interpretation of cause-effect impact). Highly effective organization and planning skills required. Ability to effectively communicate up, down and across the organization.
